In Perumbakkam, over 20,000 families live in cramped conditions, where safe spaces for children are almost non-existent. Childhood here often fades into daily chores and survival struggles.
Evenings are spent on narrow lanes, where there’s little scope for safe, structured play. The joy of simple games like carrom and chess, games that build focus, patience, and strategy, remains out of reach. These children miss out not only on fun, but also on life lessons that play naturally teaches.

Through “Make Every Child Play”, GN Foundation is setting up dedicated carrom and chess play areas inside the community. These corners will be safe, welcoming spaces where children can gather after school, learn, and laugh together.
We believe play is not a luxury, it is a right. These play areas will act as mini learning hubs, teaching teamwork, problem-solving, and confidence in a joyful way.
